Guzzardi: ‘Elon sucks and 99.9% of his wealth should be seized by the state to build a million units of quality public housing’
State Rep. Will Guzzardi (D-Chicago) is suggesting the Democrat state seize Elon Musk’s wealth after the world’s second richest man has been making public decisions made within the company that effectively aided Democrat politicians.
“Man I would be so much more productive if I got banned from this site. Elon sucks and 99.9% of his wealth should be seized by the state to build a million units of quality public housing,” Guzzardi said on Twitter.
Commenters quickly rebuked Guzzardi’s assertion.
“Isn't ‘the state’ seizing someone's personal assets (when a crime hasn't been committed) something Communists or dictators do?” Twitter user 8 Hawk Dawson RF said.
Mario DeCicco replied noting Guzardi’s profile.
“I think you just answered what kind of person Will is (as if you didn't already know),” DeCicco said.
Another Twitter user suggested Guzzardi look more locally for issues to work on.
“Maybe worry about the robberies going on in ur district,” Twitter user Bizarrowolrd said.
Some questioned his tone.
“I hate the fact that you represent my state with opinions like that,” The Advisor said.
Guzzardi, a Democrat from Chicago whose legislative profile note’s he is a former journalist with the Huffington Post, has been in office since 2015 in the 39th District.
Guzzardi, the son of a publishing executive and an editor, has an Ivy League pedigree as a graduate of Brown University. He has been a proponent of rent control in Chicago which involves regulation and government involvement in private real estate transactions.
The Guzzardis family was outed by a blogger for taking advantage of New York City’s rent control policies.
“What’s this?! A rent-stabilized apartment on the Upper East Side for our ‘big names in the book publishing industry’? Interesting how a seemingly well-off, two-income family entrenched with the “media elite” requires any assistance with rent. Furthermore, how does one qualify for any sort of rental assistance when one also owns a weekend retreat near the Hamptons?!” Citizen vs Machine said in a 2017 post.
The 2022 election marked the first time in five elections Guzzardi had faced an opponent in a general election in one of the safest districts in the state for Democrats to get elected. The communities themselves are in jeopardy as increased crime rates continue in Chicago.
The district includes the Chicago neighborhoods of Logan Square, Portage Park, Belmont Cragin, Hermosa and Avondale.
Musk has drawn leftist ire in recent weeks with installments of the Twitter files showing coordination between the Democrat establishment and former Twitter executives to suppress information that did not align with their political narrative including the suppression of credible reporting from the New York Times linking Hunter Biden and president Joe Biden to foreign business deals made possible by the senior Biden’s influence.
The suppression of that story and the takedown of the New York Post’s entire Twitter account Musk tweeted his pronouns were “Prosecute / Fauci” in a parody of the pronouns game the hard left engages which critics have called intrusive and also a nod to yet to be released findings within the Twitter files regarding Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Musk sent an emoji of a gold medal to a commenter who asked if he found evidence that Fauci and the federal government had conspired to censor items on Twitter that did not fit the government narrative on Covid.
The New York Post recently reported that Twitter had “shadowbans” in effect that limited the reach of conservative Twitter users and their tweets.
Those items include the lab leak hypothesis on the origins of Covid – which many in the field have said is the most plausible theory – as well as tweets regarding the efficacy of the vaccine which has now been linked to a much higher incidence of heart problems and death from heart attack in young men.
